ABOUT THE COVER

This photograph of an unstyled Model “D” was heavily “retouched” to convert the tractor to a styled “D”, so it could be colorized and used as the cover of sales literature A114-40-10, which is shown on the cover of this issue. Note the additional differences, made later, such as the intake stack. Incidentally, the original photo actually did cut off the left rear of the tractor as shown here. It, and more of the shed to the left, had to be created by a company artist.
